Jakarta - A study shows that the speed of the global Internet has increased . Then what about Indonesia ?
Referring to data reported by Akamai , until the third quarter of 2013 the global Internet speeds up 29 % compared to last year . Average current speeds reaching 3.6 Mbps .
The report also cited an increase in data consumption on mobile devices . Overall mobile data traffic up 80 % over the previous year .
" In the third quarter of 2013 we saw the growth of the Internet speed for the long term . We believe that this trend will have a positive impact on internet speed around the world , " the report Akamai .
Indonesia is also not spared mentioned in the report . According to Akamai's average speed in the country up to 1.5 Mbps , up 26 % compared to last year in the same period .
Even so internet connection in Indonesia is relatively slow when compared to neighboring countries . Call it the Philippines to reach 1.8 Mbps , 1.8 Mbps Vietnam , Malaysia 3.2 Mbps , 7.8 Mbps Singapore , and Hong Kong with a speed of 12.4 Mbps .
But when compared to all countries in Asia Pacific , India was ranked the most youngest about internet speed by an average of 1.4 Mbps touch .
